Dr Eugene Rogers takes over Thomas Hampson's World of Song series this month, with Movers and Shapers in Classical Music, a series that features powerful conversations with composers, conductors, singers and musicians mostly from the United States who have a global impact on the field. Dr Rogers, our guest-host and curator for August, will spotlight the work of the Sphinx Organization and The Washington Chorus. He will also host a two-part series featuring Black compositional voices who are shaking up the field with their unique sounds and perspectives as both performers and composers.

In this episode, Joel Thomas hosts part two of this compelling conversation highlighting the groundbreaking work of Black composers. His guests include composers Jessie Montgomery, Jasmine Arielle Barnes, and Mason Bynes.
